I had a sociology professor at Notre Dame in the '80s who often wrote how child labor laws and attitudes wax and wane with our need for it. Our "moral enlightenment" is not a factor, just a tall tale.

I remember in Australia before I move here that there are labor laws determining Permanent Part Time laborers who are subject to the same benefits as F/T because they're permanently employed
