So real. Many people claim I’m “not actually Hmong” because I don’t speak Hmong fluently. In order for our culture to live on we have to be accepting and welcoming to those wanting to learn hmong

Your podcast makes me feel so welcomed. 🩷 My parents didn’t teach us Hmong because my sister had a hard time with English in school. I would always be made fun of when I tried, so I stopped.

Filipino and I can't speak tagalog. It's always been a sore spot for me when mentioned. I never felt fully accepted by other Filipinos bc I was too "white washed"
