We agreed to that knowing we were passing it on to the customer. Either that or all customers pay cash. So the 3% the customer pays is for the convenience of not having to move around with cash.

Guess what? Credit card surcharges are illegal look up chapter 501 section 0117 in Florida. You can file a complaint. I found out because a small business tried this on me

Kind of a professional here…I have worked in treasury services for a long time and everytime a client would say they are imposing the fee on their client I’d be like 🤨 I don’t recommend that. They’d say “they want to pay with card”. Babe, most people pay card. You want to appeal to your clients. It’s the cost of doing business…if a business owner is reading this. Budget for this. Don’t charge your clients. Good grief.

I’m a business owner, I don’t advertise we accept credit cards. But if you ask I’ll tell you we accept it but you’ll need to pay the 3%. If you don’t want to pay it, I’ll take cash, check, or zelle.
