Cats view moving water as safe to drink. We had a cat so this all the time. Bought a cat fountain, problem solved.

i foster kittens and they do this all the time, even with fountains. now we use a boot mat under the fountain that is hard and not soft silicone so it contains the puddles

Both my cats do this we’ve tried everything to get them to stop but we both gave up and just keep the fountain in the tub now it’s inconvenient but so is cleaning up giant puddles everyday lol

What helped my car was getting a water dish that filtered the water so it was constant moving, so he’d get the visual stimulation he wanted

mine does it too. we had to put the waterer in a bin. he still plays but it goes into the bin and not the floor.

My cat does the same thing!!! He fishes the water out of the bowl then it looks like he’s trying to swim when the water is on the floor 😂

I use the stands with the metal bowls but I fill both sides up with water, this has been the only thing to keep my cat from knocking the bowl over and/or digging in it.. hope it helps!! I also use a smaller size one but fill it multiple times a day
