@abilit_ease: In this video I wanted to show how I use the hand controls in my adaptive minivan to drive to the office. Using the POV phone holder I am able to show my driving perspective as I utilize hand controls for accelerating, braking and the hand cuff on my steering wheel to turn. The hand controls are mounted on the left side of the steering wheel which is great because I’m left handed. I rest my left hand on top of the hand control and push down to brake and forward to accelerate. There is also a horn button on the inside portion of the hand control near my index finger. Therefore, if I need to engage the horn quickly I can slide my hand over to the right and push it with ease. Being able to drive independently has been huge for me and my quality of life. Do you know if there is a reaction time difference between using your hands to accelerate compared to feet? This is actually a good way to make sure people aren’t as distracted with phones
