In 2011, Ricky shared his truth in his memoir “Me: Ricky Martin” about his decision to come out as gay. In my own book, LIVIN’ ON A PRAYER: BIG SONGS BIG LIFE, I share my own journey of dropping the facade and all the hard lessons it came with, including how it impacted my very own solo record. We all have our own path to self-discovery. I’ll never forget this exact conversation I had with Ricky in private years before he came out, always supporting his need to be himself, also a chat that is detailed in my book.
