@booksnpuppies: Eevee started panting really hard on our walk so I cut it short and brought her home. She usually puts her paws in the water but she’s never climbed into and sat down in her water bowl. So we knew this was pretty serious. She was breathing really hard before this for a good 5-10 minutes. Google says she was showing signs of heat stress which is the first step toward heat stroke. I don’t usually walk her when it’s that humid and hot outside so I’ll def be checking the temps in the future and doing their walk later in the future. She gave us a good scare but I’m glad I noticed the signs and got her home and cooled off in time before it became more serious. #dogtok #heatstroke #dogsoftiktok #pomeranian

the humidity is extra bad for dogs since when they pant it is to evaporate the water on their tongue as a cooling method

It might be a good idea to get a summer cut. Our pom has very thick & fluffy hair, so we had her trimmed down for summer. She's been much happier playing outside now!
