That's a fair answer. Just because they don't write the same genre doesn't mean they couldn't have written together at some point. Authors dabble in different genres from time to time.

I had a minor Octavia Butler obscession at one point, and used to assign her books as class extra credit… but I don’t have her or much of anything in my Goodreads. On my bookshelves, yes.

I mean even if she doesn’t read that style of book because it’s not her tea, that doesn’t mean she can’t want to step out of her comfort zone for writing and reading with someone.

I’d rather work with an expert in any field, than someone at my level. I’d want to learn from them. And maybe someone who’d challenge my views, get me outside my comfort zone. It’s fair.
