They keep asking for access to "all of your contacts" and they do. There is a setting to remove it but you need to grant access 1st

If they share it directly from Tik Tok to message (by selecting messages from the option vs copy and pasting link) then Tik Tok can access that data

Once it has access to your wifi link, you have given it access to EVERYTHING on your wifi right down to your smart fridge

Because they sent the msg from tik tok. The original msg was drafted inside of tik tok and you both have your number synced

It’s because you and your friend connected your phone numbers to tik tok, so it send it to both just in case of no service

I suspect that during the transmission they can collect other information to act upon, like the data that can be collected on a site that triggers an automation that sends you an email "I see you..."

This has happened to me too with my sister in law. I think it’s because our numbers are linked to the accounts?

I hate it. You have to strip all the extra tracking they stuff in the URL before sending. Ie, copy, paste in to browser, press go, then delete back to just the video url w/out tracking.

Users add their phone number to their TikTok and links the video back to itself by text to keep users on the app.

Yea. iOS apps are supposed to be sandboxed so it shouldn’t have access to anything else you don’t explicitly give tik tok access to but I don’t remember doing so either.
