vulnerable post alert 🫣 Club Knix was an extremely surreal experience. I had a pretty hard time on day 1. Straight up, I felt like I didn’t belong… I was questioning why I was even invited. As a creator, my content wasn’t like anyone else’s, and in a space with so many other creators, I caught myself playing the comparison game. I was so wildly outside of my comfort zone (in a MILLION different ways) that I felt myself putting up this wall that stopped me from being myself. I got in my head, and imposter syndrome won. To be painfully honest, in that moment, I wanted to go home. But after a good sleep (and a good cry lol), on day 2 I changed my mindset. Both @Ashley Hill and Andy shook me from the paralyzing chokehold of imposter syndrome and reminded me that being different was probably why I was there in the first place. You know what happened next? ONLY GOOD THINGS. Once I was able to get out of my own way, so many positives followed. I made beautiful friendships and allowed myself to have incredible experiences that I otherwise wouldn’t have had. Now that I can reflect on it all, I realized that the biggest takeaway for me was learning to be confident in my own skin - whether that’s in a bikini, or denim and steel-toed boots. I am not one thing. I am multi-faceted and I’m allowed to evolve and adapt. I am not like everyone else, and instead of letting that make me feel less, and that I don’t belong, I’m choosing to embrace my individuality and let it fuel me forward. I’m not *just* anything. I am a farmer. I am a creator. And I deserved to be in that space. So if you’re reading this thinking you too don’t belong… girl. I’m a cattle rancher from Ontario who ended up on a swimwear brand trip to Cabo (LOL) and I got there by being my weird-ass authentic self. Be yourself and the opportunities will come, I promise.
