Colorism has always exsisted in Mexico. I have seen how I am treated different bc I am güeríta. I hate the phrase “blanquear la raza or mejorar la raza” . Lighter skin is always preferred

There’s a book called there’s a word for it in Mexico which tells the history of the “nicknames” it says the parents learned to call their kids names to make fun to toughen them up to the Spaniards
