@axeandroothomestead: Do you know the 6-8 rule? It applies to allowing animals onto pasture. The general guide is to allow animals to graze a new space when grassy forage reaches 6-8” tall. If you’re growing legume-based forage like clover, vetch or alfalfa, it’s best to wait until 10-12” tall. Always remove the animals when the forage is grazed to 4” tall. Anything less is considered overgrazed and won’t grow back as quickly. This is one of my new pasture divisions installed and seeded after our new French drains went in for better property drainage. My entrance area is still a bit bare but we’ll get there.
