He's the same Max. The stuff you pointed out is just Easter eggs from the previous movies. Miller has said that he intentionally mixes up details because the story of Max is a myth.

Miller debunked this in a 2015 interview. Also there is a cannon tie in comic with story by miller that connects Mel Gibsons max to this one.

Mid 40s?? Hardy was much younger? Mel Gibson was 23, 25, & 29 in the original trilogy. Hardy was 38 in Fury Road.

The V8 was completely destroyed in Road Warrior. Even in the first Mad Max movie it was an extremely rare vehicle to have. It's just a mess.
