My son had coupe 3 times before he was one from😭 The ER had us either hold him up to the freezer with the door open and have him breathe in the cold air for a few minutes and it helped alot or

As a momma of an asthmatic toddler who is very prone to croup, when the cough gets bad stick her in front of the freezer with the door open. The immediate cold opens up those airways.Hope this helps❤️

ugh i remember those meds, absolutely awful!! my son would throw it up most of the times i gave it to him. was so thankful when he felt better. good luck momma❤️
