stop lying....only welders making 200k a year are underwater/oil rig welders. starting welders maybe make 19-25 hr. with no experience will will not be welding unless you find a company willing to train. as a beginner welder, youll be a helper..no matter how good your welds are. knowlege is K. is it hard work? hells ya it is. depending where you work get ready for 10+ hour shifts 4-6 days a week. rain or shine. yes if your in the field you can make good money. but 200k is way out of reach. beginner Welders: practice your TS AND over laps (in all positions), these are the normal go to. im still learning after 3 years in the field, be humble and listen. dont be cocky..wont get you anywhere. this what i did today. not great but for me im happy.

15 years ago before my husband passed he was a contract pipeline/refinery weldor (yes Weldor is the man. Welder is the machine). Owned his rig. Was bringing home $3650.00 a week! Work hard, good pay.

This is a little misleading. Yes it’s possible to make 150-200k a year, but that’s not very many ppl at all. Production welders in Houston make between 15 and 30 an hour with most around $20-25/hr.
