@thehistorysource: Did you know the first mobile phone system was launched in 1946? Although mobile phone technology in the 1940s was in its infancy, and limited to a very basic form. In the mid 40s, the first services were introduced by AT&T and Bell Labs, using push-to-talk phones that were quite bulky and primitive by today’s standards. These early systems, known as Mobile Telephone Service (MTS), were very limited in capacity, often supporting only a few number customers, mostly businesses and city services in any given city. However it was these early first steps that helped spark the research and development of our modern systems that we enjoy today. #history #tech #1940s #innovation #didyouknow #learnontikok #fypツ #edutok #retro #vintage #historical

it's almost like technology exists long before it's mainstream. they need time to figure out how to best profit off us after our tax dollars paid for the development of it

I was also expensive to use. In the 80’s I had a brick style Motorola phone. I was charged about almost $2.00 per minute. Times have changed.
