@abc7ny: Troubling new data from the state comptroller finds that more New Yorkers are struggling to find their next meal. Between 2020 and 2022, 875,000 families experienced food insecurity. That's about one in every nine households in New York. That's up compared to data between 2019 and 2021, when 800,000 families were food insecure. Nationally, food insecurity rose for the first time in more than a decade, to 11.2% of households between 2020 and 2022. State comptroller Thomas Dinapoli says this comes as many federal benefits ended as the covid pandemic ended. He also pointed as the rise in costs and more new yorkers in poverty as other factors. #nyc #hungry #foodinsecurity
