broke person here. bought a split level house with 2 other people. moved a 4th person in. my bill was $656 for this month. incld all utilities and internet. I will be 64 when my house is pd off.

Not to mention if you were to sell, there would be closing costs and other fees so you might realistically pocket $75k. dividing that over 5 yeas, it's earned you only $15k a year

All of this!!! I bought in 2019 and am in a very similar situation!! I think a lot of people don’t understand how expensive CA is especially LA so even 1 million isn’t “a lot” in many parts of LA
