I always drill top hole then bottom hole then join up .top hole drill slightly up bottom hole slightly down.

Decent job!! 30 years a chippy and I’ve only just learned to screw the lock in place before chiselling out and use the knife to score round !!

This is how I do mine, just as quick as setting up jig with dust extraction etc etc. Love old school traditional methods.
