Detangling is the worst part of having curls 😖 but also so satisfying once you get those knots out 😍👀🚿 I don’t usually get to day 9 (promise 🥲) but I’ve just started university again and I was busyyyyy so the curls got quite dry and tangled Some detangling tips: 💦 Apply a deep conditioner to your hair before shampoo to detangle (I’ve found that if I shampoo my hair first my curls sometimes become even more tangled) If your hair is really dry then I’d recommend this 🩷 💦 After you’re applied your deep conditioner, wet your hair a little to help the deep conditioner spread throughout your hair 💦 Detangle from the bottom up and be gentle (I still need to work on being gentle myself lolll, I get so impatient and tired 😂) 💦 Use a brush designed for detangling, the one I’ve been loving to use recently is @tangleteezer the ultimate detangler brush. Wiping the makeup off halfway through is so real 🤣 ♥️ Turning myself into the queen of hearts with @curlsmith_official hair makeup in ruby (thank you @teamfluorescent for gifting it 🫶🏼) It’s temporary too and washes out in one wash 💦 ♣️ Honestly guys I had such a difficult time with the makeup here. I’m so awful at makeup and art (literally failed my art GCSE when I was at school) so this was a ✨challenge✨ ♦️ But overall I’m really happy with it! This might be the longest I’ve not washed my hair 🥲😖 which resulted in a HUGEEEE knot ✨ I normally wash my hair once to twice a week but I got super busy (and procrastinated a lot) which resulted in the top layer of my hair getting rly rly knotty Some tips on how to detangle to minimise breakage: 🩷 1: I’ve only started doing this really recently, but deep conditioning before shampooing! I find that my curls become less tangled during the wash process when I do this! 🩷 2: Continuing from this, using a deep conditioner or hair mask when you detangle is key for me. The one I’m using here the coconut hair food mask from @garnier 🥥💛 It always leaves my curls feeling/looking super soft and shinyyy ✨ 🩷 3: Once you’ve applied your deep conditioner, dip your hair under the shower briefly so your hair is soaking wet. I’ve found that this helps the product distribute throughout your hair and helps create ‘seaweed’ hair (soft, silky curl clumps) 🩷 4: Lastly, after applying your deep conditioner / mask (and if you want to use a brush) make sure to brush from the bottom up! This is so the brush doesn’t pull on your hair as much and cause unnecessary damage / breakage. The brush I’m using here is the @tangleteezer detangling hair brush 💜 I hope these tips help! 🥰 Deep conditioning is one of my least favourite and favourite parts of washday 🤣 I hate how painful and tedious detangling can be, but the results are always so satisfying and worth it!! #curlyhair #curlyhairtips #3acurls #curlygirl #curlyhairroutine #curls #curly #curlscurlscurls #curlyhaircare
