I've got an Akita, she is still a puppy but strong, she got attacked my a little dog the other day, I controlled her but problem is it's hard to hold her back and grab the other dog

My dog almost got attacked by an off leash dog today this big dog was off leash & run up to my dog I ended up putting my dog behind me my dog bit my leg but I rather him not be attacked .

my dog trainer carries a slip lead at all times. he slips it on to the off lead dogs that don't have good recall and walks them back to the owner

Our smallish 3 year old Beagle is lead reactive to dogs coming into her face (she will bite) she’s ok if dogs ignore her and stay out of her bubble. Should I muzzle her on walks?

Trying to implement not meeting strange dogs with my 10mo dog now and realising how difficult it is to get fully grown adults to respect my decision to ask them to keep their dog away. So annoying.

If it’s just rough playing then I tend to let my dogs sort it out for themselves. None of my dogs are afraid to put another dog in its place. If it’s a genuine threat to my dog then I will intervene
