@parttimeadventuring: Traveling 1500-miles was the ultimate adventure, and Big Bend National Park did not disappoint! ๐๐จ Amidst the vast expanse of desert landscape, here are a few highlights that made every mile worth it: ๐๏ธ Hiking the Chisos Mountains: The trails here offer stunning panoramic views and the chance to encounter diverse wildlife. The two hikes we did was Lost Mine Trail and Emory Peak! ๐ Scenic Drives: Chisos Basin Road takes you up into the beautiful mountains, the road rising more than 2,000 feet. Ross Maxwell Scenic Drive is 30 miles long and l offers many scenic overlooks and exhibits along the way. Sotol Vista, Mule Ears Overlook, and Tuff Canyon are all worthwhile stops. The road ends at Santa Elena Canyon, where limestone cliffs rise 1,500โ above the Rio Grande. A short trail leads into the canyon. ๐ Stargazing in the Dark Sky: With minimal light pollution, Big Bend boasts some of the darkest skies in the country. Spend an evening marveling at the countless stars that blanket the night sky, and if youโre lucky, catch a glimpse of the Milky Way in all its glory. Big Bend offers a variety of experiences that make the journey truly worthwhile. ๐ #BigBend #AdventureAwaits #bigbendnationalpark #visitbigbend #usnationalparks
