@replumb: installing a little firefighter gas shut off valve to comply with a clients insurance policy. are these going to become standard in earthquake prone areas?
Once that gets it a FM stamp, it will probably start showing up in code.
FM is Factory Mutual kinda like UL
except it is fire ratings for insurance companies

I installed one once. It had to get inspected and the inspector had me install a strut from the pipe holding the valve to a solid object (stud) in the wall to avoid it tripping on contact.
