The material heavily relies on the two actors to carry you through from JFK to New York with a smile, a chuckle, and a lot of laughs. With no one else appearing on stage except the duo, chemistry is vital and both actors have delivered and they can take the cake while they’re at it! 🎂 Gift’s voice is a force, she’s belting out there on a Wednesday matinee like it’s her final show—AMAZING. She goes from cold and shrill to warm and kooky as the show progresses. Kelly hits those comedic cues with finesse and showcases a dopey-eyed, rose-tinted glasses wearing Dougal adorably… like a golden retriever in human form. Set on a turntable stage with painted luggages pilled up, to me, registered as a cake on a spinner with Dougal and Robin as the ceramic bride and groom figure pieces. The luggages open as transformative set pieces and possibly a representation of both characters having emotional baggage. A simple plot and premise sprinkled with pristine music and fabulous performances makes Two Strangers a charming and comedic experience worth seeing! 💺 SEAT A29 - Restricted by the bar, you do have to lean in to see some parts but overall good value seats for £26.25.
