@mxntetravels: Yup they just leave their eggs on the shelf. This sincerely shocked me. After a long rabbit hole I went through, all eggs have a coating that is good at protecting itself from bacteria and parasites. In the US we wash our eggs which removed the protective coating eggs naturally have which is why our eggs needs to be refrigerated. Other countries dont wash their eggs so the eggs dont need to be refrigerated as they do in the US. #limaperu #limaperu🇵🇪 #foodfacts

Eggs don't need to be refrigerated until they are washed. They have a natural protective film that is destroyed during washing and processing for sale in the USA (some other countries too)
