@catchingmadesimple: #stitch with @Ben_Verlander the first thing my college coach told us my freshman year was this: “make aggressive mistakes” Sometimes while trying to push the envelope and stretch our abilities we go over the line. The hope is that when we go over the line it’s in a “reversable” way. An injury is not very reversable. For all you young athletes, “make aggressive mistakes” is meant to reduce the fear of failure, not get you injured. If you’re hurt, you can’t play. If you cant play, you cant make any mistakes. Catchers, make sure to give yourself ~1.5 arms length distance away from the batter. And watch out for: - the batter scooting past the back of the box - a big backswing on an inside pitch - the umpire pinning you (so you can’t go any further back)
