My snap-on pass thru actually gives you the website to go to get the software downloaded to be able to program and such. A good pass thru and a good scanner or two is all you need in my opinion.

For my shop we have the Ford IDS, GM MDI 2 and Stellantis Witech 2 and gladly pay the yearly access fees. We pass it on to the customer.

it can't be free. how do they pay the software designers, tech support, and R&D? Most manufacturers charge their dealers for use of the software.
