@bee.jeweled.coop: Want to give this a try in your chicken coop? Here’s the rundown 👇🏼 🖼️ Materials: 1. High-quality wallpaper from Spoonflower 2. Spray cleaner (homemade 1:1:1 mix of vinegar, alcohol, and water) 3. Mod Podge Outdoor acrylic-based glue 4. Sponge brush and roller 5. Polyurethane for sealing 6. (Optional) Smooth board wall cutout for a template + liquid nails for application ⚙️ Steps: 1. Prep the Wall: Clean your coop wall with the spray cleaner and ensure it’s dry. Note: Make sure your wall is SMOOTH. Wallpaper will not stick to a textured wall. 2. Mark the Middle: Find and mark the center of your wall and the center of your coop wallpaper. 3. Draw Guidelines: Use a pencil to draw guidelines on the wall along the edge of the paper. 4. Apply Glue: Paint a thin, even layer of glue on the coop wall. Note: we are using glue because we want to ensure adhesion in a humid environment. It gets hot and humid here in the south and traditional wallpaper paste may not hold well in your chicken coop. 5. Place Wallpaper: Peel the backing off and apply the wallpaper to the glued area before it dries. 6. Smooth Out Bubbles: Use a roller or a flat wooden spatula (like I did!) to smooth out bubbles. 7. Repeat: Continue with additional strips, making sure to align the patterns. 8. Dry & Seal: Let the wallpaper glue dry for 24 hours, then apply two coats of polyurethane. I did quite a bit of research on the best way to wallpaper our coop and I’m also armed with a few years of decoupage experience through work 🤪 I think this will hold! I will update again later this summer when the real heat hits us ☀️ Questions?
