They both have the same sensors. You just need the right app for the Apple Watch. Try Athlytic. It gives all the same metrics as a whoop (and you get to also see the time).

Check what it is entering for automatic sleep tracking to ensure accuracy. Make manual changes to your sleep log if auto entry is wrong. Incorrect sleep times will affect recoveries.
