People don’t go teaching for money. They go teaching cuz it’s handy and there off half the year. U have to sacrifice something and in there case it’s money

Forgot to mention how difficult it is to get a permanent position and how you aren’t paid for holidays unless permanent or fixed term, can take anywhere from 2-5 years or even beyond to get a post

I'm a general nurse 9 years qualified and just on €44k, started out on something like €23k. Don't understand why our increments don't match up

one of the best paid jobs in the country when you take holidays into account. nice safe cushy job. no fear of being injured in work unlike other more stressful careers.

The money is good. Many private sector jobs do not pay as well. The pension and benefits are very good.

Straight out of college very few graduates get an offer of a full time job, it’s normal to get offers of 20hr week which does not include paid holidays.

This is not accurate ! if only . This is basing a job on permanent from day 1 which rarely happens and is including posts . It’s not a base salary by year . Not close

Misleading. You’re missing a ton of prep, marking and non class work that’s done.

Incorrect. My pension is worth pennies. maybe if I had the early 90's pension but I don't. 40years service and my pension is worthless
