@thesafetydoctor: 👇🏽 Safety Tips: ⚠️ Girl walking back home from school is followed for several blocks by a man 3 safety tips for kids walking home from school: 💧💧 1. Use the Buddy System: Always try to walk with a friend or in a group. There’s safety in numbers, and individuals are less likely to approach children when they are not alone. If a buddy isn’t available, arrange to have a parent, guardian, or another trusted adult walk with them. 💧💧 2. Stay on Safe, Well-Traveled Routes: Encourage children to stick to main roads and paths that are well-lit and commonly used by other pedestrians. Avoid shortcuts through isolated areas like alleys, wooded areas, or parking lots. Familiarize them with the safest route to and from school and practice walking it with them. 💧💧 3. Know When and How to Seek Help: Teach children to recognize situations where they may need help. If they feel they are being followed or see something suspicious, they should know to go to a safe place immediately, such as back to school, a trusted neighbor’s house, or a public place like a store. They should be instructed to tell an adult (like a teacher, store clerk, or security guard) about their situation and ask for help. It’s also important for them to know how to call 911 in an emergency. . . .. .. .. #parenting #parentingtips #parentinghacks #parentinghumor #parentinganak #parentingquotes #parentingmemes #truecrime #truecrimecommunity #truecrimeaddict #truecrimestorytimes #truecrimeobsessed #familytime #familylife #familygoals #safety #safetytips #safetyfirst #staysafe #protection #selfdefenseforwomen #selfdefense #selfdefencetraining #selfdefensekeychain #selfdefensevideos #ring #ringdoorbell #ringcam #videodoorbell #homesecurity
