He’s a kid and he was so excited. I can’t imagine how much shame and resentment he’ll feel towards the game now.

if they didn't want people reaching down an arms length, maybe put something there to block like a chain link fence or some type of plastic shield

Close to the wall and odds are it would have bounced into that seating area. He deserved the ball. Good catch kiddo. He will change teams now probably

Hell no why would they kick him out? Its everyone’s dream at a game to get a ball literally run the play back so what

Not fair to kick him out…he’s watching the ball come towards him to catch it - he’s not looking at the ump waiting for his call.

To be fair, the projectile of the ball bounced straight into his glove and didn't even look like it would have hit the wall

I wouldn’t have known of this rule. It would have been nice if an usher reminded the rows upfront not to interfere with play.

I’ll never know why there aren’t nets that protect from situations like this or a rule stating seating can’t start until like 4 feet from the edge with the edge blocked so fans can’t get there.

Them escorting him out is ridiculous. They should have left it alone cause I’d be willing to bet it would’ve went over anyway. Making people hate the game

I saw 3 people reach OVER the wall, if you don’t want Interference put up a net. People don’t listen but to kick him out?! 🤔😕

Pretty dumb to kick him out he honestly didn’t know, you can’t expect all the fans to make these judgement calls in a split second.

Is there no way to build stadiums that don’t allow fan interference but they still have the opportunity to catch a ball?

It looks like it was going to go into the fans anyway, it didn’t look like it was going into the wall but over the top!

It wasn't egregious. He didn't even know he did something wrong until that person told him (at least it looked like he told him). Should've let him stay

I don’t think you should get thrown out for that… If a fan can reach it who cares just award it as out of play and move on

arm extended straight out not angled down so that ball would've bounced in the stands. if anything he saved someone from inury

Put up a net or don’t seat people there. Can’t charge exorbitant amounts for seats, then blame fans because they are too close.

I watched the whole game and I never saw the kid getting escorted. Everyone laughed it off and didn’t mention it again. Is this cap? I’ve seen worse intentional interference than this

So what’s the difference if the ball continued into the stands? Because the walk wasn’t high enough to stop that

I mean, I get it. Those are the rules. My mom took me to yankee games all the time as kid and always explained to me if it comes into the stands it’s fine but never reach over to try to catch it 🤷♀️
