@bentune: lifter trays seem like a fairly insignificant component, but it's actually quite important that they be of decent quality. if they do not securely hold the lifter or are made out of a more flimsy, less durable plastic, then you're setting yourself up for future problems. it's a very inexpensive part, so there's no real benefit from buying a slightly cheaper knock off version. #bentune #hptuners #dyno #tuning #mustangdyno #dynotuning #gm #trucks #Chevrolet #Chevy #Silverado #lsx #ltx #lt1 #l83 #l86 #ls1 #ls3 #btr #BrianTooleyRacing #DIY #howto #hopethishelps #mechanic #mechanicsoftiktok #racetruck #streettruck #fyi #Thursday #work #lfg

I have a 2004 5.3 Gm engine with only 153000 miles I’m trying to get more power for pulling a 4500 lb boat. What would you recommend for camping and possible heads ? Trying to stay around 2k ?

I’ve told so many people to swap them out when they’re doing lifters or DOD delete and they don’t listen. 2-5k miles later and they have failure and then they hate when I say “told you”

Being a GM master tech we get tons of the Gm ones failing as well always on a AFM lifter spinning on the lobe

I've had good success with tie-bar conversions on these motors. Worth the extra coin, in my opinion.

If these trays are that loose can it cause a loud tapping noise ? I tore my motor back down to replace some valve springs and found that my after market lifter trays are like throwing a hot dog down a hall way man ..my lifters just fall out .. I grabbed some other lifter trays I had laying around and the lifters fit snug ..
