the only thing is I've seen that damaged pothos roots release a chemical that can cause tumor growth in fish

Do people not understand how plants work?! This seems like the ideal condition to keep fish? Doesn’t seem inhumane to me, the tank looks very clean and the water is clear!

before I learned about minimum tank sizes for Bettas, I had one in a two gallon jar with a plant. he lived a little over 7 years, which I'm told is a long time for a betta

guppies are able to live in poor conditions better than other fishes. May not be the best thing to say that they're adapting - also bc of biological defintion of the term

I used to change the water every week…. Then someone said nitrates shouldn’t be zero and now I just do it when the test kit shows orange. The fish are fine!
