@missclairebenjamin: 🚨 Handling the late one 👇 When someone is consistently late for work it can be really frustrating as a manager especially if it’s having a wider impact. There can be so many reasons why people are late, sometimes it can be a sign that something is wrong. I’d always recommend approaching the conversation in a supportive and curious way. Give them the benefit of the doubt and seek to understand the reason. Share what you’ve noticed and check in: “I’ve noticed you’ve been late for work most days over the last few weeks so I wanted to check in and make sure everything is ok?” Ask them if there is any help or support they need from you. If they continue to be late. Raise it again and let them know you’re concerned. “We spoke a few weeks ago about you being on time for work and I’m noticing you’re still late most days. Is something going on, I’m concerned about you?” Let them know you’re available to talk if anything is going on. Then also communicate the importance of them being on time and WHY. 📌 Please be mindful that the approach shown in this video will not fit every situation so always use your own judgement and adapt it to suit your own circumstances. You’ve got this! 💬 Have you ever been on either side of this conversation? Share your experiences in the comments so we can learn from each other 😊 ✈️ Share with someone you think this could help 🚀 Follow for more tips on handling tricky people and situations at work #worktips #leadershipdevelopment #corporatelife #emotionalintelligence #communicationskills #difficultconversations #manager #managertips #managingpeople

I am late every day. I don’t care. And neither does my boss. We arrive between 9-10. Nobody schedules meetings before 10. We are all happy.

Depends on the job. I do shift work and if someone is constantly late by at least 15 minutes, it means someone else can’t leave on time. That’s really selfish.

How often does the employee check on the boss to make sure they are ok from the stress of keeping the business going and keeping them employed?

Why is this such a big deal just ask them to work the time back whenever they are in late

Or, if they're getting the job done, put in additional hours when needed, and have a good work ethic, just appreciate not everyone's good at mornings...

When I’m not WFH I’m late 10 minutes every day. It’s because I’m a sleepyhead and disorganized in the mornings.

I think it depends on the job. If it’s shift related its important to be on time. But if its an office job it doesnt matter too much. My office has an 8-10 start time.
