I work at 5 below and it’s a new policy because people were complaining about not liking self checkouts and also to prevent errors at the check out. So corporate is making us do it now

I’m a shift lead at 5 below and the only reason why they have associates checking others out is due to stealing and sometimes the register will have a malfunction and refuse to take anyone’s money-

Literally!! And sometimes they just watch me scan the items 😭😂 so awkward.. it doesn’t even make the line go faster because we have to wait for the employee to be ready to help someone else out

5 below worker here ! From I have been told is to avoid stealing,a lot of people sometimes forget to scan some items so we have to make sure that they everything is being scanned
