You should tile the wall to the edge of the threshold so it lines up and it’s waterproof

The waterproofing won’t do much on the floor because the water will just go down the edges. Best to do a schluter membrane and run it up the walls an inch or two

Extend the waterproofing past the shower and lip/curb. That way if anything splashes out, you have some protection

On a side note as a house cleaner have your shower tiles dip near the drain so it doesn’t pool in corners

This is amazing info! I bought a house with a diy shower. Water was pouring in the basement and come to find out he slapped some tiles to mesh stapled to the wood back there 😂😭
