@australiangreens: Today Labor claimed to announce billions of dollars of new funding to fix the housing crisis. One small problem: that’s completely untrue. If Labor cared about addressing the housing crisis, they would have announced today: (1) a two year freeze on rent increases followed by an ongoing cap of 2% every 2 years, (2) phasing out the tax handouts for property investors that deny millions of renters the chance to own a home, and (3) using the savings from the tax concessions to establish a public property developer to build 360,000 good quality homes to sell and rent at prices people can actually afford. 🔥 @Max Chandler Mather #HousingCrisis #Renters
