I know a couple with a 14 yr old dog - they didn't train her AT ALL and they tell her to "sit! sit! Belle, sit!" Why doesn't the dog know English?

Heeling(on leash) or walking nicely on a leash is the hardest I’ve ever tried to teach my beagles..we can do utility, but we can’t walk on a leash to do novice lol..our novice scores suck lol
