@nourished.by.mads: Cottage Pie Recipe 🥧 Feeds 4 1. Boil a pot of water on the stove. Peel and chop up 2 large russet potatoes and add to the boiling water. Boil for 20 minutes (or until potatoes are easy to mash). Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F. 2. On a cast iron skillet (or regular pan, if you don’t have one) add in 1 pound lean ground beef to a medium heat pan. Let cook until almost browned. Add in 1/2 cup of chopped green beans, 1/2 cup diced carrots, 1/2 diced yellow onion, 1/4 cup corn. Mix around and let cook for 5 mins. Add in 3/4 cup beef broth and let cook until most of the beef broth has boiled off. Turn off the heat to that stovetop. Season with salt and pepper. 3. On a small saucepan, add 1 cup whole milk on low/medium heat. Add in 1 tablespoon minced garlic and 1/2 tablespoon chopped rosemary. 4. Once potatoes are done cooking, strain them and add them back into the pot. Add 1/2 stick of butter (4 tablespoons) and add in your warmed milk slowly until the mashed potatoes are creamy (you may not use all of the milk). 5. Spread the mashed potatoes on top of the beef mixture with a large spoon. Once evenly spread, use a fork to draw lines through the pie. 6. Add pie into the oven for 15 minutes. Then, turn the heat to a broil at 500 degrees F and let cook until it’s browned on top. (Usually 5-10 minutes) Be careful not to overcook and burn it! 7.
