We’ll basically the apex is the highest point of the nail of you look at it from the side, and this will prevent the nail from breaking and luring at the back. Depending where you are from, you are probably going to put the apex either in the center or more at the back. “The US apex” is usually out in the center of the nail where the “stress area” is. This is usually where you get those tiny cracks on the sides of the nail. The “European apex” is usually out a bit further back, around the back third of the nail.
