متع الحياة ليست حقيقية .. الدكتور فريد الأنصاري رحمه الله #المغرب #فريد_الأنصاري #مؤثر
Pre-emptive grief is when we feel sad for the future loss of something we enjoy now. For example, many people get this on Sunday night because, as the weekend whittles away to nothing, Monday looms large, and it robs Sunday of what there is yet to be enjoyed. As a parent to young children, I get pre-emptive grief more often, and it cuts more deeply. Every time I pick up my eldest child, I notice how heavy he is becoming. He's getting harder to carry. I won't be able to carry him forever. It's silly to let future pain rob present joy, but it's hard to deny our feelings. The best we can do is to reframe them. I can remember to savour the uniqueness of now, and let the future loss add to the present joy. The poet Jack Gilbert once wrote that ‘We must risk delight. We must have the stubbornness to accept gladness in the ruthless furnace of this world.’ Pre-emptive grief is a reminder that the world is ruthless, and that gladness will not last forever. But in a world determined to grind us down, we must risk delight. For me, pre-emptive grief is full of pathos, but it's also a challenge. It reminds me to recognize that every moment of life really is unique. The universe has gifted me, and only me, this moment. I still can carry my son, and so today I will.
