*20 days off is the minimum by law in Germany! Usually you get more! You also usually get more than 10 days off in Japan if you've worked several years at a company

In Germany we have at least 20 days for a fulltime Job by law. 30 days are common for jobs with a Mo-Fr Job.

In US, highly dependent on company/team. Mine is Unlimited PTO, to include fed holidays and Xmas/New Year's. Highly encouraged in mine to take 30 days, not including the above holidays.

In America they give you 30 days off no matter how long you’ve been at the company, it’s mandatory giving to each new/current employee.

from my experience japanese people considered it rude to be super direct which is the antithesis of german attitude. their culture revolves around beating the bush to get their point across
