@andi_yourpediatricnp: This tip can actually work for a child’s night terrors too!👇 So this tip is specifically for early morning wake ups, where it is developmentally appropriate for a child to sleep through the night. You only need to give it a try for 3-5 nights. 💤 let’s say they are waking up at 5 am. You will set an alarm for 1 hour prior to their typical wake up time, and march right over to their room and gently STIR them. It is so important they don’t wake up! 💤 stirring could mean something as easy as opening the door, or maybe even a gentle touch. It all depends on how heavy or light of a sleeper the child is. 🛌 This ideally puts them back into a lighter cycle of sleep, thus extending their amount of sleep through the morning.
