It has changed so much since I visited the site in 1987 or 1988. There was less viewable then. It is just so amazing! Would love to go back someday.

Just wanna say that I’m Switzerland they kept this tradition of street fountains. The older ones still work with gravity pipes but most of them work with pumping nowadays. Having free drinkable water is a right we should all ask for.

Pompeii had sewers - while private citizens had exclusive well water they also used City water for their villa toilet. it all ran thru streets & pipes to the Port & directly into the Sea by the city.

Walked thru Pompeii in 2017. Fascinating place. Man was more intelligent thousands of yrs ago than we are today. That's why we can't replicate the great pyramids.
