happened to me. took an uber back home, got about halfway there, and immediately realized i still had an iv connected to me. i called the hospital and they told me to come back.

I took my own IV out before. Ended up in and out of the ER so much from chronic health issues. Did it fine, no mess. But probably wouldn't recommend

Had a nurse leave a PICC line on a unresponsive patient and the PT and their nursing facility didn’t know it was there, I didn’t see it until we got to the hospital and I nearly had a aneurysm.

My dad had someone call at 3am cause they could breathe... they had a stuffy nose- could breathe out of their mouth perfectly fine 😭🤣

Nurse here. Can’t tell you how easy it is to forget to take out an IV. Especially when patients have more than 1. Always double check

I bled out all over my hospital room once because my nurse didn't connect the line back after she disconnected it to give me meds via the main line vs a port... and they wouldn't answer the call button.
