It mainly wasn’t used because it had shit old trains and infrequent services. Obviously incorporating it into a big existing network is also useful.

People didn’t use silver link because the service was poor and unreliable. Yes, having the overground on the TfL map helps, but a much bigger issue is that trains now actually show up.
