I think companies should honor mental health days.. sadly they don't care about your mental health. I was demoted because I got sick too much, which I'm 100% positive it was due to extreme stress

yes!!! taking care of you means taking care of your team/family etc! I see that now after 20 years of hindsight 20/20! Though the dept would still prefer you be there..regardless. So many don't care.
