@natgeo: Captured by @MikeMezPhoto, this beautiful footage of the Northern Lights was filmed in Kensington, Kansas between the evening of May 11 and the early predawn hours of May 12. "It was a moment in which I honestly couldn’t believe my eyes. I’ve shot the aurora borealis in many Arctic locations, and never would have thought I’d be shooting it in such a low latitude as Kansas. Blues, pinks, reds, greens were all visible to the naked eye and at times, dancing directly overhead. The solar storm began to become visible right after sunset and lasted all the way until the sunrise twilight. To be able to witness and experience such a historical event in space weather is going to be hard to top."
