A nurse told me that if you want it a little colder feeling, sprinkle a little water on the ice pad before adding your tucks/whatever you want to use . It’s incredible for those first few days.

We always teach our pp mamas how to assemble these as well but only recommend the ice packs for the first 25 hours postpartum and then transition to a sitz bath.
